When you use Kidavio, we collect the following information:

• Account information: Your email address, display name, and authentication credentials. Your password is securely hashed — we cannot read or access it.
• Child information: The child's name, age, gender, and personality traits you provide to personalize the story. This data is used solely for generating your book.
• Photos: If you upload a photo of your child, it is stored in our cloud storage and sent to AI image generation services to create illustrated characters that resemble your child. Photos are stored until you delete them.
• Story personalization: Details you provide such as favorite animals, best friend's name, and special places — used only for story generation.
• Payment information: Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your credit card number or payment details. We only receive confirmation of whether a payment succeeded.
• Contact form submissions: If you contact us, we receive your name, email, and message.

Transparency about photo handling is important to us:

• Uploaded photos are stored securely in our cloud infrastructure.
• Photos are sent to third-party AI services to generate illustrated characters. The AI uses the photo as a visual reference to create cartoon-style illustrations — it does not store or retain the photo after processing.
• You can delete your photos at any time from your Account settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent from our storage.

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

• Secure infrastructure: Your data is stored on trusted cloud platforms with enterprise-grade security. Access controls ensure that users can only access their own data.
• Encryption: All data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are securely hashed — we cannot read your password.
• Authentication: We support email/password and Google sign-in, with secure session management.
• No user data on application servers: All persistent data is stored in our secure database — the application servers do not retain your information.

While we follow industry best practices, no online service can guarantee absolute security. We take reasonable and appropriate measures to protect your data.

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

• Stripe (payment processing) — Privacy Policy
• Google (AI-powered story and image generation) — Your child's name, personalization details, and uploaded photo are sent to generate stories and illustrations. Privacy Policy
• Cloud infrastructure providers (database, hosting, file storage) — Your data is hosted on enterprise-grade cloud platforms with industry-standard security certifications.

You have full control over your data:

• Delete individual photos: Go to Account → Your Photos and remove any uploaded photo instantly.
• Delete all photos: Use the "Delete all photos" option to remove every photo at once.
• Download your data: Export all your account and book data as a JSON file from your Account settings.
• Delete your account: You can permanently delete your entire account from Account settings. This immediately removes all your books, all stored photos, all generated content, and your authentication record. This action is irreversible.
• Unsubscribe from emails: Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out of all non-essential emails at any time.

All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment provider — the highest level of payment security certification. We do not store, process, or have access to your credit card details.

We store only: whether a payment was successful, a transaction reference (for support purposes), and the amount paid.

Kidavio uses minimal cookies:

• Authentication cookies: Required to keep you logged in. These are essential for the service to function.
• No third-party tracking: We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking or advertising cookies.
• No data selling: We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

Kidavio is a service for parents and guardians to create personalized books for children. The service is not directed at children under 13. Children do not create accounts or interact with the service directly — parents provide all information on their behalf.

We collect only the minimum child information needed to personalize the storybook (name, age, gender, personality traits). This data is stored in the parent's account and can be deleted at any time by the parent.
